Most of the Tampa Park Apartment complex has been purchased by Darryl Shaw. The 370 unit complex is almost 60 years old, suffers from substantial deferred maintenance, and has a high vacancy rate. The location however is interesting in that it’s between downtown Tampa and Ybor City & Channelside. Shaw is buying 12 of the complex’s 18 acres. While the purchase price has not been disclosed, the property’s appraised value is $12 million. Shaw plans to build new housing on the property. Shaw will provide financial assistance to help existing tenants relocate.
