Publix Buys Several Downtown St. Pete Properties For $28 Million

Publix has a supermarket at the University Village shopping center and has bought several properties surrounding the plaza for $28 million. Publix bought the properties from Bell Partners. The deal includes a 15,000 sq ft building that CVS has been leasing and some undeveloped land that’s zoned commercial. The Publix in University Village occupies 29,000 sq ft while Publix supermarkets average 45,000 sq ft. It seems that Publix plans to move out of University Village and build a larger facility.
